Mother's Day is celebrated on different dates in
different countries. Most countries celebrate the special occasion of
Mother's Day on the second Sunday in the month of May. The particular
day was declared as the official day for Mother's Day celebrations by
US President Woodrow Wilson by signing a Joint Resolution on May
8, 1914. This tradition of honoring mothers and paying them tribute on
the second Sunday in the month of May spread to many countries across
the globe. Various countries adopted this date to celebrate Mothers Day.
At present, besides US Mothers Day is celebrated on the second Sunday
of May in several countries including Australia, Belgium, Brazil,
Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Turkey and
India.
Mothers Day Date in UK
In England, Mother's Day, is celebrated as
Mothering Sunday.
The date of Mothering Sunday changes every year as if falls on the
fourth Sunday in the Lent season (40 day period leading up to Easter).
Mothering Sunday is celebrated in the month of March or early April.
Since the date of the festival falls half way between Shrove Tuesday
and Good Friday in the middle of the Lent, Mothering Sunday is also
called
Mid-Lend Sunday.

Mother's Day on a different day and even different time of the year. At
several places even the method of celebrations varies. But what is
